About the Training Workshop
A 4-hour communication education and training programme with a focus on better logical sequence in transferring patients’ information (iSBAR) and to enhance quality of interaction for patient safety (iCARE-team) at clinical handover for nursing staff will be developed, implemented and evaluated.
Our training modules and materials incorporate re-enacted videos of de-identified interactions, role-play simulations and a framework of communication protocols, checklists and practical communication strategies.
The training programme is evidence-based with authentic data from nursing staff, and translates communication theories to impact on actual practice of nursing staff. Selected participating nursing staff’s handover practices at shift-to-shift during clinical routines will be assessed after the training.
Target Audience
All registered nurses in Hong Kong working in different clinical contexts: hospital, clinics.
